Do you know a church member that goes above and beyond their offering of time and talent to the church? Then nominate them for Generosity in Action so that their efforts are recognized by our community! Just email your nomination to email@example.com — along with a description of what they’ve contributed to UUCJ — and we’ll put them in the running for honorees next quarter.

Barbara Parkinson was discharged from the Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital on March 14, 2018. She is very pleased with her care at Brooks and happy to be home with her husband and family. Her husband is still receiving care from home health services after his heart surgery. He is now able to walk on his own without a cane. More good news…the Parkinson’s sixth great grandchild, Kennedy Nicole, was born on March 10, 2018! Congratulations!
Afesa Adams (a former UUCJ member) is very ill. She cannot take phone calls, but would welcome notes and cards. Her address is:

Emigration Canyon, UT 84108
The Generosity in Action honoree for March is Jennifer Tucker! Jennifer has been a hard-working leader within our church community, heading up many committees and projects within UUCJ. It is her third year leading O’Leno as Registrar or Director — so stay tuned as she helps to create an amazing adventure for us this year! Jennifer was co-chair of the LDC (Leadership Development Council), which created the leadership workshops in the much-lauded Journey program last year. She led Special Events for three years, managing the annual parades that UUCJ participates in. She is on the Committee on Ministry, and has envisioned and spearheaded our partnership with Arlington Heights Elementary. Jennifer has invested countless hours in enhancing the community experience for all of us over the years, and we are grateful for all she’s done!
Our women of all Ages group will meet Thursday March 22, at the Regency Square Library at 5:30 in the evening in one of the large meeting rooms. Please come and share with us how you became a Unitarian and came to be a member of UUCJ. This will be a great opportunity to get to know some of your fellow members and for us to know you.
The book selection for Monday, April 2, is the novel Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann. It is based on the true-life story of wealthy Osage Indians who began dying in large numbers under mysterious circumstances in 1920s Oklahoma. The meeting is at 1:00 PM at Books-a-Million near Regency.
Anyone who likes to sing is invited to join our choir for our annual Earth Day program on April 22. Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, March 11 at 12:30 in the chapel. Music readers and non-readers are welcome. Rehearsal CD’s are available so you can practice at home as well as each week at church. For information and encouragement speak with Sharon Scholl.
